Repost: 33 Dawah Ideas For Women

Women play a major role in the construction and reformation of society. InshAllāh, sisters in Islam can take some ideas from these tips.
  1. Start islamic classes or book clubs in the home; spreading the teachings of Islam to neighbours and friends.
  2. Offer tasty meal's to neighbour's (or family, if you are a revert) with a card mentioning hadith, ayah's of The Quran or an inspirational quote from a trusted scholar.
  3. Start a blog or website and post islamic information and reminders.
  4. Supporting, helping and encouraging your husband to continue dawah work.
  5. Teaching Qur’an and tajweed to children and women.
  6. Create a support group for revert sister's in the mosque or islamic centre.
  7. Start an SMS/Email/Facebook network to share useful reminders.
  8. Counseling women and children and helping them with their problems and emotional issues. The counseling should be Islamic Counseling i.e. based on Qur’an and Sunnah, with knowledge of psychology and therapy.
  9. When out in public, act as a Muslim should. Don't tell them you're a Muslim, show them.
  10. You may want to research characteristic's and manner's of a Muslimah or read The Ideal Muslimah first.
  11. Writing Islamic articles and books.
  12. Starting a magazine especially for sisters.
  13. Have patience and listen. Especially if you are a revert yourself you know how long your personal journey took so take it easy on other's inshAllah.
  14. Hand out dawah leaflet's and booklet's via iERA, One Reason Dawah gift box, IPCI or The Dawah Package at the women's gym, to parent's on the school playground...or even leave a few on the bus/train for people to stumble upon
The complete list can be downloaded here. (the free PDF by Umm 'Eesaa)

Reposted from here.

p.s: I've been reposting stuff a lot these days because I can read and reread them much easier if I posted them here, and it would be so much better if what I've been reposting could make some advantages for the others too. Here, I'm not trying to owning these writings. I'm just in the position to spread the words. And I've also had credited the source where I got their writings.

Jummah Mubarak

Fashion Formula:
New Look long sleeved shirt + Principles Petite leopard-printed cardigan + Ranti Moslem's Gallery skirt + Green pashmina (from Alisha) + Mango army bag (not on the picture) + Vincci shoes (worn here)
It's Jummah already. Time flies really fast. Masha Allāh.. (what a scary and mind-opening truth!) I went to campus today and the french class is replaced to tomorrow. So I got home earlier today. I've always tended to wear skirt on the days that I don't have early-morning classes because on the days I have early-morning class, I've always got rides by my brother in law using the motorcycle besides he also has to give my little brother rides to his school in the morning. It's only on Friday and Tuesday I'm having the late-morning class so, I must go to campus by myself using public transportation. Therefore, I can wear skirt! ^_^

Hadis Sahih (QS Al-Maidah, 5:91)

Bahasa Indonesia:

(HR Bukhari, 954)

English:
The Prophet (pbuh) said, “During your sleep, Satan ties three knots at the back of your necks. He breathes the following into them,
‘The night is long so keep on sleeping.’
If the person wakes & praises Allah, then one of the knots is unfastened. And if he performs ablution, the second knot is unfastened. When he prays, all of the knots are unfastened. After that he will be energetic & happy. Otherwise he would get up listless & grouchy."

(Reported by Bukhari, Hadeeth.)

That's maybe why rising up from bed seemed to be so difficult to be left, the bed seemed to be so binding. Let's try to take ablution before sleep, because Rasulullah SAW said,
"Whoever slept in a state of purity, then the angels will be with him in his clothes. He will not wake up until the angels pray 'Ya Allah, have mercy on your servant because he's sleeping of in a state of purity".
“Barangsiapa yang tidur dalam keadaan suci, maka malaikat akan bersamanya di dalam pakaiannya. Dia tidak akan bangun hingga malaikat berdoa ‘Ya Allah, ampunilah hambamu si fulan karena tidur dalam keadaan suci”.
(Imam Ibnu Hibban meriwayatkan dari Abdullah bin Umar.ra., hadits ini dishahihkan oleh Syaikh Al Albani dalam Shahih At Targhib wat Tarhib I/37) > Source

Masha Allāh, such lovely girls, aren't they? Their looks are like candy to my eyes. From the gorgeous tribal printed hijab that Junisa has, Candy colours of Zihan's look, enchanting scarf of Dian Pelangi's which Hutri has, adorable mix up did by Fatin, and the last is the pop art scarf from Janeeta Scarf which has been sold out, unfortunately. By this means, 2012 is all about tribalistic prints, soft, candy colours, and striking-colours-mix-up. Thanks for my friends who have let me to put on their pictures on my blog! Much hugs and kisses!

Stylified

Giovanna Battaglia has the charm in her personal styling. Even to the most casual look, she could pull off an extra ordinary style. Let's take a look on her two styles which also could inspire hijabbed girls.
  1. On a monochromatic printed dress, mix it with matching accessories. For an example; we could put on our plain coloured hijab with a matching couloured bag.  Gio's trademark is having her edgy watches and some charm bracelets circling on her wrists. That's always been a nice touch to present our own signature style even for the formal events.
  2. On the second look, maybe we could put on our simple coloured abaya with a twist of a different colour fabric which is tied with a simple knot on the front. Voila! there would be more texture on the clothes we wore. For a sleek look, try to wear simple hijab too. Don't choose the patterned ones. For the hijab, we can pick the same colour palette with the fabric we chose to wore. Edgy, simple necklace, and a big clutch could more characterizing this look.

Hanne-gaby Odiele! She's always been having the most striking, artsy personal style among the models. Let's take a look to some of it!
  1. Black lips, dark top, edgy necklace...! So freaking awesome. This one isn't her personal style though, it must be a look from a runway show which whose I don't know.
  2. I think the mixed printed top she wore is from Dries Van Noten, the bottom might be from Dries too. It's really nice if you can mix different patterns on one look, because it's a hard job to pull off that kind of look.
  3. Dries and dries again! I also have a thing for Mr. Noten's fashion creations. I like the character of his style's essence. And look! how lovely it is fuschia trousers mixed up with some forest' greens.. These prints are magnificent. I wish I could print my own fabrics.. haha.
  4. Blue wide leg jeans, yellow mustard top, and psychedelic printed Dries Van Noten's coat. Sweet combination.
  5. 90's sweater, wide leg patch worked jeans, and a pair of penny loafer. This is so applicable for a college look.
  6. Bright red coat combined with bright blue super wide trousers! This is truly a bold combination. I love the silhouette of this look.

What a dress! it's maxi, and bird prints on it? awesome..! Maybe it should go into my closet.

 Golden Styles

I don't know why, I just have a thing for these 'style masters' looks, looking so stylish, artistic, and fun at their age, though these looks aren't so applicable for the hijabbed girls. No wonder, because Carla has a long career at the fashion industry, and Lucinda is the fashion editor of British Vogue.

Repost: I Prayed for Peace Today

By: Yasmin Mogahed
February 23, 2010 12:37 am

I found myself praying for peace today.
I’ve been in and out of my mind a thousand times
I know You heard me.
I know I wasn’t alone in that room,
shaking with the fear of fear,
the harrowing loneliness.
I cried out to You on my hands. On my knees.
With my face pushed down against the ground.
If I could have gotten lower, I swear I would.
Because that is helplessness, the truest kind…
The kind that knows nothing, not one leaf, or tear, or smile can be
without Him.
I learned something today.
Again.
This is dunya. Dunya. Not a place of ease. Only glitter.
The place where you have to feel cold and hungry.
The place where you have to worry and feel scared.
The place where it gets cold.
So cold, sometimes.
The place where you have to leave the people you love.
Where you can’t get attached, because even if you do, it doesn’t make it stay, it just makes it hurt when it doesn’t.
The place where happiness and sadness are only players, waiting for their next line in a play…
Competing for their place on stage.
The place where gravity makes you fall, and frailty makes you bleed.
The place where sadness exists, because it must.
And tears fall to remind you of a place where they don’t.
Where they just don’t.
And isn’t that just it? Isn’t jennah that place after all,
that place that Allah describes over and over and over in 2 ways?:
La khawfun alayhim wa la hum yahzanoon…
On them shall be no fear…nor shall they grieve.
But I’m still here, aren’t I?
The scar on my flesh reminds me of that.
The burn on my arm left a scar that I love.
I love it because it reminds me how weak I am.
How human.
That I burn. That I bleed. That I break. That I scar.
Yes. It is here that I am. Here that I fall. Here that I cry.
Here, just the same, that You filled that room, and lifted me to humbleness, and an acute knowledge of my own powerlessness and excruciating need for You.
And then you took care of it.
Of course You did.
Of course.
Like Younus, and Musa, and his mother. You took care of it.
You are the Peace of the peaceful.
The Strength of the strong.
The lighthouse of Truth in this storm of lies.
So, I found myself praying for peace today.

Something Left

I just want to share some of latest photos on my camera's memory card. About some weeks ago, I've lost ALL my files, keepsakes, and whatever from my external hard disk drive. That would be including the pictures I've collected since I was in junior high school all through the way to high school, scanned old pictures, school's assignments from the past, some project plans for this blog, all the photos, all the photos, all the photos.. Yeah, hopefully those files could be recovered, but I haven't had the time to do it so, because there are too many files, and so little time. I really can't hope to get them back intactly. There must have been damaged files or anything. But afterall, what I'm so thankful about is that I don't get frustrated about losing these all. I've experienced the same thing when I was younger, and more unstable. And, at that time, I was so frustrated losing all my files which I thought was important (because keeping the memory keepsakes in the form of photographs has been my thing). Alhamdulillāh to have the feeling I'm having right now, it must be a blessing from Allāh. When the first time I figured out that my external hard disk was blank, none inside, the first thought that came into my mind was: "even on the akhirah, the life of this dunya wouldn't felt like more than one day". That line calmed me.. Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Raaji'oon, whatever we have is not really ours. It belongs to Allāh. At some point, this experience has taugt me to be more tawakkal, and become my own reminder that everything belongs to Allāh.

Repost: 33 Dhikr

I've just known this kind of dhikr counting method, and it's really helpful knowing this! I had sort of losing my focus when I did the method I've always been knowing all my life (it's really terrible being unfocused, I know). But Alhamdulillāh for this..! ^_^

"Why Does Evil Exist: Hardships and Struggle on the Path to Allah"

 ...Jannah...
"But in order to get this… You know, this is something infinite. Now, we don’t live forever in this life. We live for a limited amount of time. We only have a limited amount of capacity. We spent… I mean when you go and you look at how many years of our life we’ve spent sleeping, how many years of our life we’ve spent eating, or doing other things, we can only… really, possibly worship Allaah S.W.T a very limited amount of time. And yet, in exchange for that, if we do that, we get something infinite. You know when you guys to the store, and you get something on sale, but I’m not just talking about sale like, like a major clearance you know, supposed something cost like a thousand dollar, and you paid a penny for it. You’d be pretty happy, you’d be like ‘that’s a deal’… right? Ya, you’d be like ‘I got the deal’. Well, this isn’t something that costs thousand dollars. This is something that infinite. Someone should just imagine, something infinite and you’re paying a penny for it. Really…? Cause if you think really about what Allaah S.W.T is asking from you, in exchange for it, you get something infinite, something that no money could ever buy, something that you didn’t actually deserve, but you get it because of the Mercy of Allaah S.W.T. And the greatest, again the greatest, reward, is imagine that you actually get to be with Allaah S.W.T. And you actually get to see Allaah S.W.T. That’s the greatest reward of Jannah."
Masha Allaah! This is a very inspiring video indeed, shall we never despair striving for Jannah! :')

Fan Shob!

I am currently reading a book that is entitled: Fan Shob! - Jangan Hanya Diam by Harri Ash-Shiddiqie. On its papers, you could see so many bookmarks I put there. There are so many insightful, and opening sights that could boost our awareness about the duty of being a muslim. May the writer be rewarded with equal goodness. Aamiin.

These are two of many many many paragraphs that I like on this book. It's printed on page 192.

and I'm sort of trying to translate it into English
pardon me for the imperfection ^_^

"It’s different with a person who has sentience of how valuable the grace of life is.  They would appreciate happiness because their soul is still attached to life, is still given the chance to breathe the air of this world, it’s a happiness that settles in the heart. They’re still be able to see the red horizon when the sun left evening. When thousand of birds’ flocks fly back home, when the call to prayer (Adhan) touches nature’s cavity, and chest cavity.

Every realization that come, each of the happiness we feel changes into shukr (the term of denoting thankfulness, gratitude):  still be able to look at the sky, still have an opportunity to meet the sun. That kind of excitement cannot be cracked. Can’t be reduced. The more we perceived gratitude; awareness is growing in, we could feel the excitement as well as peace more and more loaded in.  The joy of peacefulness would gradually transform into a feeling of the true happiness. The joy that existed in every breath we take would trigger further gratitude to strengthen the peacefulness and happiness"

He has described what I've been feeling these days. An imperishable kind of happiness would never be founded in materialistic stuff. Happiness itself is what we brought up to ourselves, and it's becoming more real when we could share happiness to each other. Seeking the truth by diving into the islamic teachings  has truly bring me a peacefulness. When we're passing through difficulty: be patient. When we're passing through happiness: be thankful. Bersabar, dan bersyukur.

Alhamdulillaahirabbila'alamin.
