Flashblack: Inoubliable 20'11

Photobucket
The long-awaited night has passed. My prom night; a once in a lifetime moment was held at Bumi Sangkuriang. Why am I so excited about this?! It's because that I designed my own dress! Well, apparently the dress is not 100% freshly came out from my brain as my own original idea. I was just trying to mix up eye's objects I saw like for example: The skirt details of the soft-coloured dress worn by Emma Roberts, TOM BINNS HAND PAINTED CRYSTAL MESSAI NECKLACES *faint*, Nicholas Kirkwood fall silk lace over navy suede, China Glaze and Nicole by O.P.I nailpolishes, to create the look I wanted to have. And here's my weirdly weird expectations. The lace that is attached to my dress was hopefully to be like lime green but the designer where I made the dress suggested to use the same pallet with my basic fabric and that would be silver to make the dress not too plain. Haha, my idea of putting lime green lace way too striking! Okay, I agreed. I didn't want to look hideous. I was curious about my expectations. That's why I made this collage:

Annisa
Her cuteness on her face (+ behaviour) won't ever be faded away even she's wearing black head-to-toe. I like how Nisa worn her easy-to-wear dress paired up with a fierce black wedges. The necklace seemed to give an edge that empowering her effortless look. And moreover, her look is just so right to be decorated with the beautifully braided hair!
Photobucket
Loving Nisa's braided hair!

Melinda
I was amazed the first time I saw Melinda. On her beautiful face polished a courageous-modern make up. Under her eyes framed white lines which made her so shining. The cotton dress was also outstanding! The detail is just simply unique! She said that it's a custom-made made by her sister's fashion line. Her 'simple-but-courageous' look reminded me of how catwalkers dressed on chill events.

Hasna
Cute dress, isn't it?! The 'pinch here - pinch there' details reminded me of the simpler Comme des Garçons essence. It's actually meant to be worn as both maxi or short dress. There are buttons behind the dress that you can't see... I loved how Nana worn it asymmetrically. The necklace surely brought colour to her look, and that fedora hat?! showed that she lives in music world!

Eventually, the prom night I had wasn't as vivacious as I imagined. The way it ended that night made me dance to the instrument of waltz of the flower by Tchaikovsky. It ends 'Inoubliable'.

Flashback: 18 and Graduated!

Photobucket
I am officially a high-school graduate and turned 18 at the same time! It was on 23rd May my school held the graduation day for year 2011 at Grand Serela Hotel, Bandung. I wasn't as prepared as I prepared for prom night because I thought prom night would be more vivacious than the graduation day. And I was really excited to design my own dress!

My mom was the one who was really concerned about what I was going to wear on my graduation day way before D-day because, she didn't want to be panic on D-day. Rather than joining mom to be troublesome, I made some unrealistic jilbab looks (below).

The unrealistic looks

So then.. when time felt faster than Shinkansens, I chose to wear my non-Islamic kebaya rather than making the new one. It's the one that was made for my cousin's wedding on 2009. I liked that my 'bride' cousin, and my sisters have the same materials to make these kebayas. it's really sweet in spite of the short sleeves which I feel so uncomfortable to be worn.

And finally, I wore the kak Dian Pelangi jilbab style. Easy breezy comfy!

I was wrong! I had the best day ever. I felt so blessed to meet all the people I used to see at school everyday in our best dresses and suits, honoring the times we had at SMAN 20, for getting the best education, met our best friends there, maybe met our true loves, and the unforgettable memories we had together inside the old and 'not-so-big' building. Yes, it is. Knowing that it'll be a little chance to get these momentary moments with our fresh faces and young hearts in the future. My gradution day was precious. Those moments were the best gifts I had on my birthday, with a lovely surprise at home after the event given from my family.

The next step is just begun. I am so thankful to Allah that I had the chance to study in this school, even it's not the school that I aimed to go when I was in middle school, and it's not entitled as the 'best' school in Bandung. To me, SMAN 20 was the place I started seeing the outside world with hope, smile, and optimism. I got the best experiences there even though I was pessimistic about the high school myth known as: "The most beautiful times in life". And I ended having those high school times with beautiful traces in my heart. Allah Know Best, Indeed.

Life is Juicy

On Tuesday, 21st June 2011 I had my photoshoot project done with my model friends; Desire, Lestari and Nanda. They all are my school mates in high school and we have planned about having a photoshoot since we haven't passed our examinations! About the theme, I was inspired from the paper cuts from vogue of Juicy Couture campaign in 2010 which I put on my bedroom wall.
Photobucket
And I thought about the fruits as the 'image' in our photoshoot. I wished that they would give strong and juicy effect in the photos but not too overpowering as if they're turned as the characters that are presented by us. These stylings were came out spontaneously! Lestari represented a girly girl look with soft colour touches, Nanda tend to be more colourful in a 'tougher' way, Desire looked so groovy in her multicoloured blouse which she styled by herself, and I had the tropical look. Here are the outfits we wore:

June 2011 Playlist

Here is my top playlist this June which could be said that these tracks are over-repeated in this month. When you like one song, are you repeating it over and over again until you get sick of it? Well, that's what I do! LOL.
Photobucket
1. Glee Casts (Kurt) - Blackbird
I soon like this song when I watched Glee in this episode. I had one day that I only played this song for a whole day! I realized it when my sisters said to me: "OMG you still play this song since this morning?!" Haha... I couldn't help it! I really feel like crying and enjoy at the same time on the part 1'04"-1'117".
Photobucket
2. Antonio Vivaldi - La primavera (Spring) in E
Part 2'51" - 3'03" is my favourite! I feel like flying on that part.
Photobucket
3. Porcelain Raft - Moonwalk
The first time I listened to this song... I feel like this is the chillest song on earth and it seemed like everything's just so damn fine! I keep repeating this track on the day I had my prom night. The rhythm dances me, and it's just the type of Porcelain Raft's music gives. I've always enjoyed hearing his songs. Favourite part: 1'13", but mostly overall!
Photobucket
4. John Mayer - Daughters
The lyrics! the acoustic guitar! and Mr. Mayer's voice! you know that feeling when his songs soothe you...
Photobucket
5. Soulvibe - Biarlah
This song was introduced by my friend Lestari, like she always used to. Me and my pals are a sort of like a jazz lover. We mostly enjoy sang together to some jazz music like Maliq and the Essentials, Soulvibe, RAN, Olivia Ong, and many more.
Photobucket
6. Lady Gaga - Judas
My friend Wahyu; as a Lady Gaga lover told me about this song! And I liked it since the first time I listened to it. Favourite part: 0'37"-0'51".
Photobucket
7. Katy Perry - Futuristic Lover
I knew this song when I played tap tap revenge 4! Haha... and I think it's enjoyable to be listened to. My favourite part is: 0'16"-0'18".
